Northern Metalic Sales is part of a larger, diverse group of companies with interests in wholesale distribution, oilfield service & supply, lubricants distribution, land and real estate development, rail construction & transload, vehicles rentals & leasing, and finance.
Overview:
We are currently seeking an individual to fill the position of On-Site Service Representative at our Prince George, BC location.
Specific Responsibilities include:
As an On-Site Service Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and operational support at client locations. This role ensures accurate inventory management, timely replenishment, and compliance with safety standards while representing Northern Metalic’s values and commitment to reliability and responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for designated customer sites, ensuring professional and courteous interactions.
- Represent Northern Metalic’s mission and values during all customer engagements.
- Identify opportunities to expand product offerings and communicate them to account managers.
Inventory Management & VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory)
- Travel to customer sites to manage inventory levels according to agreed Min/Max standards.
- Scan and process orders using Northern Metalic’s VMI tools (e.g., MiPart app) for accurate replenishment.
- Maintain proper labeling and ensure stock areas are clean and organized.
- Perform site audits and set up new VMI bins and product offerings as required.
Operational Tasks
- Receive and stock purchased products in designated customer locations.
- Verify product quantities and ensure timely replenishment to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Prepare invoices and verify customer accounts and credit limits when necessary.
- Coordinate schedules with the sales team to maintain coverage of responsible areas.
- Deliver customer product to customer locations on route as required.
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all customer site safety guidelines and Northern Metalic policies.
- Wear appropriate PPE (CSA steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, etc.) during site visits.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times.
Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular updates to account managers regarding customer needs, challenges, and opportunities.
- Participate in semi-annual business reviews to assess service performance and implement improvements.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience (industrial supply experience preferred).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency with mobile apps and basic computer systems.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel to customer sites; ability to work in industrial environments.
- May involve working outdoors, in remote locations, and occasional weekend or emergency service calls.
- Must be physically capable of manual handling and lifting.

Experience:
